Public invited to community safety and well-being symposium in Oakville
Halton Region, Halton Regional Police Services (HRPS) and Halton Regional Police Services Board invite the public, service providers, community agencies, businesses and stakeholders to a community safety and well-being symposium, on Monday, Nov. 27, at the Oakville Conference Centre.
The symposium runs from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Because seating for the event is limited, interested participants should register by Monday, Nov. 13. For more information and to register visit halton.ca/safetyandwell-being or call 311.

Police climb to top of crime-solving ranking, too
Halton Region continues to be among the safest communities in Canada.
In an annual crime report released by Statistics Canada this week, Halton was listed as Canada’s safest regional municipality with a population of 100,000 or more.
This will be the eighth year in a row the region has received this distinction.
The report, entitled “Police reported crime statistics in Canada, 2016,” provides a detailed overview of crime statistics as reported by police services across the country.
